What have I learnt from my research so far?

So far, from my poster research and trailer anaylsis, I have learnt many things that are conventional for romantic comedies.
There are mostly two main characters featuring. The film focuses on the two either meeting or some kind of an incident. The outcome is always that they fall in love; it is happy endings.
The rom-coms that are most popular and well-known are the ones with the famous actors and actresses starring, if people are already familiar with them then they will be more keen to see the film.
The music used is always cheerful to tell the audience that the film has a happy ending, with a lot of changes for the different clips and themes shown throughout, as there is always a turbulent patch in the middle of the film, with a good outcome.
The pace is always quite fast throughout the trailer as there is a lot of information to pack in to just a few minutes. If it is quick paced, people will be watching constantly, then want to see it.
There is always a lot of funny clips shown in the trailer because it has to appeal to a wide audience, so in the few minutes the trailer has to sell the film, the good clips must be shown.
The voice over always introduces the film and characters so the audience are aware and can understand what is going on, if the audience are confused by the trailer they won't want to rush out and watch the actual film.
Close-ups and Two-shots are most common in trailers, because they show the emotions and connections a lot quicker so the audience can understand straight away.
There is limited dialogue, as the whole film doesn't want to be shown in the trailer, you only want to be shown a snippet, if the audience think they have seen absolutely everything the film has to offer in the trailer, they won't want to go and watch it again.
The credits are always shown at the end and the famous people starring are made known, and the title of the film is repeated last to make it fresh in your memory.
Every individual film has their own unique selling point, whether it is the theme of the style of love.
So there are many conventions I have picked up from trailer research so far that I will take into account when it comes to making my own trailer.
